June 4 - August 10, No camp July 4th

*We are still working on our schedule for Summer '18. Please check back in January for more details.*

When we think of summer we think of long, blissful days to dream, play, be care-free, explore, discover, and soak in the unstructured time away from school.  Families these days are BUSY!  Kids need a break from routine to let their imaginations run free and make their own rules in a safe and supportive environment.  At artSPARK we like to break free from giving endless directions to follow, and instead follow our young artists as they think outside the box.  We offer drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and fiber arts as well as other materials and processes when we see the right opportunity.

So what will your child make and do each day?  Are there themes each week?  We do not have set themes, but themes do emerge as the kids get in the flow of creating.  We follow the artistic interests of the kids, planning and preparing right along with the latest trend started in the studio.   We let them discover what lights their "spark" and then fuel the fire.  We do cooperative and collaboritve activities to encourage kids to broaden their perspective and interact with others.  Your child will make something meaningful to them and age appropriate based on their skill level.

We are all about CREATIVE PLAY & INNOVATION.  We like to set up invitations to create with open-ended outcomes, allowing kids the creative power to own their ideas and work through the aritstic process with guidance rather than following a "recipe" with an expected outcome.  At summer camp, kids will problem-solve, use critical thinking skills, collaborate, experiment, invent, and be exposed to new artists, materials, and processes for inspiration.

Buying multiple classes or for multiple kids?  Follow these steps for an easier check out:

We operate similarly to a yoga or fitness studio where you purchase options and schedule when it works for you.

You can designate multiple people from your account to share the options you buy.  However, designating multiple people to a SINGLE VISIT PASS does not  mean you can reserve 2+ people on one pass.  You need to buy a Single Visit Pass for each person you are scheduling or buy a package.

Purchased options will be saved in your account until you use them, but do have an expiration date.  They may only be used for camps that are not already full.  Please check availability before purchasing!  Camps are not refundable, but may be transferred up to 7 days prior to the camp date.

Monthly schedule view is only available on a computer, not your phone or mobile device.

KIDS SEW: $120, ages 8+

2 day session WEDNESDAY + THURSDAY 1-4

This class is for a variety of skilled sewers, from the beginner with no experience to students with some basic experience that would like to practice and develop their sewing skills further. Students will be expected to set up and use the sewing machines independently. They will be taught how to thread the machine, load the bobbin, pin fabric and patterns, cut and iron fabric. We will discuss and use a variety of fabrics and color selection.  Students will create basic and fun sewing projects, appropriate for their skill level, while developing problem solving and critical thinking skills. This class will not only  improve sewing abilities but boost self confidence as well. Kids Sew can be taken multiple times, as a variety of sewing projects will be available for students who have completed one session successfully.

SEW FUN WORKSHOP:  $60 each, ages 8+

Bring a snack & water bottle.

Must have completed at least one Kids Sew 4-week session to attend a workshop.  Workshops are sold individually and are not part of a session. Sew Fun workshops are for students to practice and advance in their sewing skills.  The goal will be to create a project (or more) from start to finish within one 3 hr workshop.  Students are welcome to bring patterns, ideas, and fabric to discuss with the instructor whether it's possible to complete during this workshop.  Students can also use this time to complete previously started sewing projects.
