"Art is the place NOT to know.  You don't have to have all the answers.  You INVENT them."

"But I'm not creative!"

"If you can hold a brush, you can paint."

-adapted from “Life, Paint, and Passion” by Michele Cassou and Stewart Cubley

Process painting is all about letting go of expectations, judgments, and technique.  Yes, throw those rules and techniques out the window.  There is no right or wrong here.  Beginners, you have the advantage--you do not have to be unschooled when it comes to color theory, and elements and principles of design.  What would you paint if no one were watching?  What would you paint if there were no judgment of right vs. wrong, pretty vs. ugly, novice vs. skilled?  What would you paint if you had no fear?

In this 2 hour workshop we will show up as we are.  No prep required.  Happy, sad, mad, excited, exhausted, worried, afraid. We've all been there and we can all let it out through paint.  Process painting can actually be very therapeutic and healing, but we are not going to label it and put any expectations on it!  This is a workshop that allows us to approach creativity and art in a different way since we are not envisioning what we will create on the paper.  So don't try to flood yourself with images and figure out what it's going to be beforehand to show up your neighbor!  Rather, let the process unfold, let your intuition guide you, and allow yourself freedom to be you and create an expression of you.  You may be amazed at what you can do when you give yourself permission to do it.  This workshop is offered once each month and we will explore a different aspect of painting for process from your true self each month.

*Please note that since this type of painting is meant for you to connect with yourself, we will be creating a peaceful environment without a lot of talking.  Discussion will happen before and after the session, but while you paint it is best to cut out other distractions or collaboration with other painters.

Special Collaboration with 4 of Littleton's Finest Merchants!

Treat Your Creative Self

Downtown Littleton at its best. Join us for this beautiful collaboration of creative expression through art, movement and breath. We will begin at Maha Soul with a gentle yoga class that begins to ground your body and open your heart. Erin Berry will guide you through a sweet class filled with her healing heart medicine. After class we will take a quick walk across Main Street to reconvene at ArtSpark studio. Here we get to enjoy samplings of wine from Lido Wine Merchants, and decadent chocolate pairings from the Chocolate Therapist. Once everyone is settled in, Andrea Rollins, the owner of ArtSpark, will guide you to move past creative blocks of fear, judgment, and criticism; to trust your intuition, and paint for process rather than product.

This sweet workshop is limited to 10 people.
