Do you love working with kids and a variety of art materials and processes? Do you possess a passion for creativity, love of art making with a focus on process over product, and strong understanding of the needs of kids ages 2-15? Applicant must be organized and have attention to detail with studio aesthetics/maintenance/cleaning and comfortable working with a Lead Instructor while assisting a group of students working with a variety art materials in a choice-based setting. Kids Art Nites: 1st Friday 5:30-8:30, 2nd + 3rd Saturday 4:30-7:30,
Open Studios: 2nd and 4th Saturday 9:30-11:30, Summer Fridays 10:30-4:30
Weekend Birthday Parties (varies)
Summer Camp: June 17-20 9-12:30 + June 24-27 8:30-4:30
Duties include: Assisting Lead Instructor with studio set up, cleaning and organizing art studio and materials, helping students with art work, answering phone as needed
Do you have experience teaching a wide range of ages, and love working with a variety of 2-D and 3-D materials and processes? Do you love guiding kids to think creatively, following their lead, and believe children should be able to make their own creative/artistic decisions? Do you value the process just as much as the product and get excited when kids use their own ideas even if they diverge from the intended outcome?
We’re looking for a dedicated professional to join our team leading art classes, camps, and parties for ages 2-15. The ideal candidate will have a teaching background. Experience in Montessori, Reggio, Process Art, or TAB (Teaching for Artistic Behavior) a plus. A passion for creativity, love of art making with a focus on process over product, and strong understanding of the needs of kids ages 2-15 is required. Applicant must be comfortable working with an assistant while leading a group of 12+ students working with a variety art materials in a choice-based setting. Must be organized and have attention to detail with studio aesthetics/maintenance and material set-up and demonstrate a warm, professional demeanor when communicating with parents during drop-off and pick-up. Flexible schedule and weekend availability required.
